MANDRAIN/CANTONESE MEDICAL INTERPRETER

📌 Job Scope You’ll take inbound calls from the US, Canada & UK and help non-English speakers communicate in areas like medical, emergency, insurance & customer service. ⏰ Working Hours * 5 days work, 2 days off * Night shifts only (start times between 8PM – 5AM MY) * 9 hours/day (8 hours calls + 1 hour break) 💰 Salary up to RM9,000 per month (based on language proficiency) 🏠 Work From Home * 100% remote * All equipment provided (laptop, headset, lighting, etc.) Delivered to your home in Malaysia ✅ Requirements * Fluent in English + Mandarin or Cantonese * Comfortable working night shift * Malaysian resident JD – Medical Interpreter – 100% Work from Home Responsibilities: - Renders correct concepts and meanings between [Language] and English following complexity, clarity, tone, and style from one language into another, upholding the correct rules for grammar and syntax in both languages - Provides strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation, and is prepared for challenging calls at any time - Employs good customer service and communication skills, clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice, as well as polite forms of expressions - Follows instructions of clients, manages the flow of the call and avoid taking over the call, as well as avoids interaction with the limited English speaker person without the client's permission - Understands interpreting protocol and terminology in the various fields of the clients - Remains calm during calls in the event that one of the primary speakers is incoherent or upset, especially in emergency situations - Remains punctual and available during scheduled work hours - Ensures access to the Internet for work related electronic communication Minimum requirements: 1. Education & Language - O-Level and Above - Education in languages/translation/interpretation and/or healthcare-related fields preferred - English proficiency B2 CEFR level or higher (verbal and written) - Fluent in Language (verbal and written) - Experience - Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply. - Any working experience in Translator/ Interpreter will be added advantage 2. Skills & Competencies - Ability to follow client's instructions closely - Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client - Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy - Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and remain neutral and objective at all times Work Requirements - 100% work from Home - Enclosed space (quiet environment) with strong internet connections (wired- LAN cable)
